Talk 1: Safe handling of bulk materials under containment requirements
The safety requirements for handling bulk materials will increase constantly. More and more raw materials get higher risk classifications or technologies are increasing where toxic materials need to be handled (Battery manufacturing). HECHT Technologie GmbH has nearly 40 years of experience in handling bulk materials in a safe way. The presentation will include first a short basic containment information and the today definition of the Occupational Exposure Limits (OEL) and the corresponding Occupational Exposure Band (OEB). After that, examples will show how bulk materials, stored in FIBC, IBC, drums, could be discharged or filled up to a OEB Level of 5. Additionally sampling devices will present where samples can be taken totally dust free (OEB 5).

Talk 2: Innovative & Sustainable packaging solutions for filling of powdery and granular products in Construction, Food and Chemical industry
One of the main challenges of packing powdery products is the goal conflict of moisture barrier properties and deaeration performance of the packaging with nowadays requirements on sustainability (100% recyclability and minimum use of 30% recycled material) coming on top. By the implementation of sophisticated deaeration technology in combination with modern coextrusion technologies, the Bischof+Klein PowFlex® product portfolio for valve- and FFS-bags offers the perfect solution for this conflict and comes on top with additional advantages such as i.e. optional outdoor storage and extended shelf life periods compared to paper packaging. Especially in the food-related segments increasing hygiene requirements have to be met and therefore plastic packaging with various easy-opening features allow to follow no-knife-policies in the food processing sector in combination with avoiding contamination of the packed goods by paper fibres. Palletizing of all sorts of bags can be effected by use of Bischof+Klein`s SmartFlex® stretchhood films, which do not only save on energy and material in comparison to stretchwrap- or shrink films, but can again be recycled by 100% and may contain 30% recycled material in their recipes.

Talk 3: Fundamental qualities for the design, manufacture and sustainable operation of packaging systems
In our HAVER & BOECKER Institute, we take such a close look at the products to be filled that we define the ideal machine technology based on the results and design the container to fit it precisely. Throughout the entire manufacturing process, quality is monitored and thus ensured. Digital solutions for process monitoring, control, analysis, and optimization help ensure sustainable operation of the systems.
