Particle- and Pore Size Characterization of Battery Materials

Main components of batteries are electrodes, separators and electrolytes. Topics of the presentation are how to measure particle size of basic electrode materials with laser diffraction and dynamic image analysis for oversize and shape, optimization of coating and drying during calendaring by nanoscale mobility analysis, pore size of electrodes and separators by mercury intrusion porosimetry, surface area determination of solid electrolytes by gas adsorption.
