Energy efficiency and sustainability as an essential criterion for the selection of the grinding system

Agitator bead mills are offered on the world market in different length/diameter proportions, different geometries of the agitator shaft as well as different material executions and grinding chamber sizes. They can be operated in different operating modes and with different grinding media.
The selection of the process equipment or the grinding system is based on different criteria such as the necessary production capacity, the abrasiveness of the product material, the permissible contamination of the product, but also on the necessary specific energy requirements.
Using a concrete example for the comminution of lithium iron phosphate, the selection of the equipment, the most suitable process parameters and the calculation of a scale-up for a real production plant on the basis of pilot-scale tests will be discussed.
