The UCF System represents the most advanced technology available for control of flue gas emission produced in combustion plants. Its greatest advantage consists in being able to reduce PM by working at high temperatures and, considering the presence of the catalyst in the ceramic filters mesh, to reduce pollutants such as SOX, HF, HCl and NOX.
Therefore, the UCF system is used for acid gas removal using a dry sorbent injection system. Typical SO2 removal efficiencies are around 80%. Moreover, the UCF system can be used for NOX removal by using an appropriate catalyst contained in the ceramic filter mesh. This process requires the ammonia injection and the NOX removal efficiencies are up to 95-98%.
