NANOPHOX CS | Next-generation dynamic light scattering instrument with the novel polarization-separated backscatter PCCS
As pioneers of photon cross correlation spectroscopy (PCCS), we offer an innovative technology based on dynamic light scattering (DLS) for particle size analysis from < 1 nm to 10,000 nm. The advantage of PCCS is the correct measurement of particle size distributions without the influence of multiple scattered light. Time-consuming sample dilution can be avoided, as highly concentrated suspensions or emulsions are measured directly.
NANOPHOX CS takes the proven PCCS to the next level with Sympatec's innovative polarization-separated backscatter PCCS.
Outstanding performance features
- Up to one hundred times higher sample concentrations | Measure your samples directly in their original concentration without dilution
- Up to ten times shorter measurement times | Measurements under one minute
- Improved accuracy and repeatability of measurement results
Further PCCS advantages
- Robust method for research, development and quality control
- Concentration independent particle characterisation by elimination of multiple scattering effect
- Extension of conventional PCS provides concurrent measurements of particle size and stability in opaque suspensions and emulsions
- Easy sample preparation without undesired dilution series
- Insensitive to sample contamination
- No required cleanroom conditions
- Direct measurement of stability, agglomeration and sedimentation of slightly charged (electro-steric stabilised) to uncharged (steric stabilised) particles of turbid samples
- Premature detection of invisible destabilisation (micro agglomeration) of suspensions or emulsions
- High sensitivity for changes in size and measurement of bimodal distributions
- Solid-state measuring method for in-situ observation of changes in stability or size, e.g. growth and crystallisation processes
- Analysis of special effects such as particle-particle interactions and changes in viscosity in high-concentrated samples
- Wide concentration range by PCS and PCCS united
At the push of a button, the PAQXOS software automatically sets all measurement parameters optimally, checks the measurability of the sample before starting the analysis and outputs the signal quality for orientation during and after the measurement. Particularly user-friendly are the automatic adjustment of the laser intensity and the precise positioning of the cuvette to optimise the measurement signal.
In addition to the well-known disposable acrylic cuvettes and glass cuvettes, new solvent-resistant disposable cuvettes and micro-cuvettes for small sample volumes are available. Typical applications comprise e.g., pharmaceutical emulsions, polymer emulsions, paints and inks, oxidized particles like aluminium (II) oxide (AIO) or titanium dioxide (TiO2) in suspensions as well as research on nanodispersions in general.
