The Bora Classifier was developed by merging our Scirocco and Mistral classifier technology, combining the benefits of both machines to produce a high performance classifier at a very competitive price.

By covering an airflow range from 360 to 6.000 m³/h, the Bora classifiers can be used either in a laboratory scale or for industrial production capacities. Also, abrasive products such as quartz, zircon oxide, etc. can be separated without high wear.

Air Classifier for Ultrafine Products

NETZSCH Ecutec´s Mistral Turbo Air Classifiers have been designed to produce ultra-fine products down to d98 < 3.5 μm on an industrial scale and a highly competitive energy consumption.

With its strong commitment to research and development, NETZSCH Ecutec introduced a whole new generation of horizontal turbo classifiers with outstanding performance. These classifiers have been creating new business opportunities and also opening emerging markets for already well established customers.

In developing the Mistral, the main objective was to achieve products of high fineness, combined with a sharp cut point at a high fines yield and a low specific energy consumption. These criterias were obtained by optimizing the dynamics of the air - flow and mechanical resistance of the rotating parts.

NETZSCH Ecutec can offer an air classifier to meet your most demanding products fineness requirements. The use of sophisticated composite materials for the rotor construction has enabled us to reach tip speeds up to 108 m/s. Mistral air classifiers have been designed for the ultrafine classification of industrial minerals such as calcite, dolomite, chalk, talc, etc.

Air Classifier for Fine Products

NETZSCH Ecutec´s Scirocco air classifiers have been developed for the production of fines from 6 -150 μm.

The Scirocco belongs to the family of turbo classifiers with turbulent airflow, also called centrifugal classifiers. These classifiers achieve a very high yield at a low specific energy consumption. The solid design reflects NETZSCH Ecutec's philosophy of building machines that are endurable in time and persist in the same state, which makes a great investment in the long term.

For the separation process the product is introduced with the air from the bottom for optimum dispersion of the feed. Where coarser separations are required, it is possible to introduce feed from the top of the classifier and this configuration helps to reduce the energy consumption due to a reduction of the pressure drop.

The Scirocco can be supplied with a ceramic classifier wheel and the body lined with ceramics or polyurethane as wear protection for processing abrasive materials or to prevent iron contamination. The head of this machine is also available for existing Pendular Roller Mills to improve product quality and quantity.

ECUTEC´s Sierra Pin Mills have been developed for grinding soft and medium-hard products and for surface coating of mineral fillers.

With contra-rotating pin discs, the resultant tip speed is over 200 m/s, which enables the grinding of soft to medium and hard minerals to its highest fineness. Independent control of the speed and direction of rotation of the pin disc drives give a high degree of flexibility. An airflow through the mill assists the grinding, enables the control of product temperature and provides a medium for pneumatic transfer of the product.

As standard, the mill body is a robust, welded mild steel construction. Access on the Sierra mill is excellent and pin replacement is an easy operation procedure. The Sierra mill also represents an economical and highly efficient method of coating ultra-fine fillers with stearic acid.

Ball Mill for Fine and Ultrafine Products

NETZSCH Ecutec's  Taurus has the most advanced technology in Mills using Grinding Media for micronizing.

A rotating robust steel drum with liners is supplying kinetic energy to grinding media inside the mill. These grinding media are crushing and grinding fresh product due to impact and friction. The lining as well as the grinding media can be made out of hard wear resistant high manganese/chromium steel, ceramic or silex.

The Taurus has several available configurations depending on the application and mill size. NETZSCH Ecutec also carries an extensive selection of special grinding media to optimize the performance of the ball mill specific to the customer's requirements. Together with NETZSCH Ecutec classifiers, the Taurus provides a wide range of fineness with top cuts down to d98 < 2 μm and up to d98 300 μm.
