During the transport of bulk materials, there is a high risk of explosion because of the complexity of the process. In event of an explosion, the damage is done not only to property but also to human health. Consequences from the explosion are associated with not only high costs for repair or replacement of the technology but the whole production line can be completely suspended or delayed due to more complex handling of transported material during limited production.

ELEVEX is an effective certified solution for the explosion protection of vertical and horizontal conveyors. The ELEVEX system reduces the explosion pressure to an extremely low level. Although the use of the ELEVEX system does not prevent the occurrence of an explosion in an elevator or other similar transport system, the consequences can be reduced to a minimum. The system is unique with its variability in use, where we can design it both for conveyors inside buildings and for those that are located outside. It can also be installed on your already operating technologies without any additional modifications. The ELEVEX system is certified according to the CEN/TR 16829.

Explosion transmission protection devices are systems for preventing the transmission of explosions to related parts of the technology.

B-FLAP I

The innovated explosion isolation flap B-FLAP I is certified according to EN 16447 and EN 15089. B-FLAP I was tested by an accredited laboratory with emphasis on real-world conditions in the various production processes.

We bring extended installation options for the explosion isolation flap valve. According to current standards and certifications, the explosion isolation flap can be installed in horizontal and vertical pipeline. It can be used in aspiration systems with pull or push flow. B-FLAP I can also be installed on pipelines containing obstacles or elbows between the protected equipment and the place of installation of the explosion isolation flap.

A novelty is higher pressure resistance of the isolation flap valve and increased maximum reduced pressure of the protected vessel, from which a potential explosion spreads. According to the latest tests and certifications, the minimum installation distance has been shortened, and the maximum installation distance from the protected equipment has been extended.

The B-Flap I explosion isolation flap can stop the propagation of an explosion caused by processed organic, melting, coarse, and metal dusts up to explosion class St 3 and dusts with very low values of minimum initiation energy (MIE) and temperature (MIT).

GATEX

The GatEx quick-acting slide valve is part of a system used to prevent the propagation of an explosion between the individual units of the production technology. The GatEx is activated when an explosion is detected. Specially developed pressure and optical detectors constantly monitor the protected zones of the production technology. The DetEx pressure detector and the LumEx 1 or LumEx 4 optical detectors can be used for detection. Activation of the GatEx is also possible via the VMP explosion venting device. The detector sends a signal to the control unit, which activates the closing mechanism. The quick-acting slide valve is closed pneumatically. When an explosion occurs, the pipe will be completely closed in milliseconds.

GatEx can be used in facilities using pneumatic conveying, extraction and in places with a short installation distance. It is suitable for technologies designed for maximum explosion pressure (pmax). The design includes fail-safe feature, which puts the slide in a safe state (closed) in case of a power cut or a pressure drop in the protected technology. The device is certified according to EN 15089.

HRD BARRIER

The HRD barrier is an active system that prevents the transmission of an explosion. It releases the extinguishing agent extremely fast into the pipeline and thus stops the increase in pressure. The HRD barrier can also isolate an explosion of dust classified as St 2 dust, light metal dust, gases, and hybrid mixtures. Specially developed pressure and optical detectors constantly monitor the protected zones of the production technology. The DetEx pressure detector and the LumEx 1 or LumEx 4 optical detectors can be used for detection. Activation of the HRD barrier is also possible via the VMP explosion venting device.

If an explosion is detected, the detectors transmit a signal to the control unit, which activates the HRD container units. These are equipped with quick-opening valves capable of immediate release of the extinguishing agent into the protected space and thus creating an effective extinguishing barrier. The HRD barrier suitably complements the HRD explosion suppression system used to protect devices. The appropriate combination of these two systems efficiently prevents property damage and protects human lives. This explosion isolation system is certified according to EN 15089 standard

The risk of explosion of combustible dust, including melt or metal dust, exists in places where such dust is handled in any way. The use of conventional explosion venting indoors or in cases where the protected technology is close to each other outside may be undesirable due to the danger to workers, their health and life, and the surrounding production technology.

The FLEX flameless explosion venting device is a suitable solution for installation on technological equipment inside buildings or in production halls. Unlike conventional explosion venting, where temperatures up to 1 500 °C can be achieved, the FLEX device can cool the flame and flue gas temperatures to a level that is no longer dangerous for technology and the people around the equipment. FLEX meets the strictest requirements of the legislation for flameless venting and is certified according to EN 16009.

In industrial plants, there is a risk of explosion of dust, gas, flammable liquids, and their mixtures. The highest risk is in the food and pharmaceutical industry where, with regard to hygienic standards, only certain types of explosion protection equipment can be installed. The risk of endangering human life or health by explosion arises in case of increased movement of personnel around the production technology.

The HRD system is a certified active explosion suppression system. Highly sensitive detectors can detect an explosion in a matter of milliseconds. The system then opens the valves of the HRD container unit and the pressure of the fire extinguisher pulls out special telescopic nozzles, which ensure efficient dispersion of the fire extinguisher into the entire protected area.

Thanks to the HRD system, the increase in explosion pressure is under control - below the limit of the pressure resistance of the protected device, thus securing it against destruction. To effectively protect the entire technology, it is appropriate to supplement the HRD system with an HRD barrier, which prevents the transmission of the explosion to subsequent parts of the technology. The HRD system is certified according to the EN 14373.

Dust storage and handling in the industry are often associated with a real risk of explosion. All you need is a spark from a short circuit in the electrical installation, a hot object that enters the technological unit together with the material, or a simple non-compliance with work safety - the consequences can be devastating. The risk of explosion arises not only when handling dust but also gas, steam, and hybrid mixtures.

The RSBP membrane is the perfect economical solution for protection against damage and loss in production caused by the explosion. Under normal operating conditions, the venting opening on the technological equipment is covered by the explosion venting panel.
