Based  of  the  increased  product  capacities  for  the  underwater pelletizing of plastic granulates JOEST extended the product range of the agglomerate screens.

Screen  decks  of  up  to  7,2  m²  in  compact  design  are  now  available.

The horizontally situated unbalance motors are infinitely adjustable and can therefore be ideally adapted to the product to be screened. The horizontal arrangement of the unbalance motors assures quiet start and stop action. Either  perforated  plates  or  wire  clothes  which  are  quickly  removable without tool, are available as screen deck. The vibratory cover made of aluminium is divided into several parts and fixed with quick release fasteners.

Dosing feeders are compact and powerful magnet vibration conveyors for flow volumes of up to 5 m3/h or, depending on the product or application, even more if they are equipped with the tried and tested JD Dosing Drive. They can be used as a linear vibrating screen with continuous vibration width control for nearly all dosing or feeding tasks for bulk materials.

The machines are particularly well suited for continuous or batch feeding of bulk materials in the chemicals, foodstuffs, plastics and packaging industries. Our small dosing feeders are successfully used in a variety of other industries as well. They are not just used for dosing purposes, but also as space-saving and cost-effective conveyor units.

In addition to the standard widths (60, 90, 120 and 220 mm), we also produce dosing feeders as well as dosing shafts with cylindrical feeder troughs based on your specifications and requirements. The small screens come standard in stainless steel 1.4301 with glass bead-blasted surfaces. The standard package includes a partial cover on the feed-end with an entry collar.

Other deliverable options include alternative structural materials, special surfaces, complete enclosures, exit collars and substructures (static, movable).

The unit can be equipped with a thyristor controller, which makes it ready to connect and conforms to CE requirements

Fluidized Bed Cooler

JOEST vibrating fluid bed coolers for bulk materials use convection to transfer heat to the cooling element, i.e. via direct heat transfer, so the heat transfer medium comes directly into contact with the product. Product is moved in the cooler using the micro throwing movement, a well-known method in vibration feeding technology that can be individually set up for each application and machine type through the adjustment of swing, frequency and articulation (throw angle). Heat transfer is typically done using ambient air, but tempered air or conditioned process air can also be used for special applications. Depending on the application, coolers can be divided into different cooling zones. They can also be set up for fresh-air mode or exhaust-air and partial-air recirculation. Models with resonating and stationary exhaust air hoods are also available. Vibrating fluid bed coolers can be delivered in a variety of materials including normal or stainless steels, or a combination thereof.

The product to be cooled is introduced by a fluidization plate with ambient, tempered or conditioned cooling air. The plate speed can be selected specifically for each product, resulting in the fluidization of the product and efficient circulation of the individual product particles. The special design of the air distribution chamber(s) below the fluidization plate, with the fluidization plate above it, ensures uniform distribution of air and airflow for the product layer on the plate, even with changing layer thicknesses. This uniformity of airflow leads to equally uniform cooling results. In combination with the customization possibilities of the vibration system, having one cooler model for different layer thicknesses means greater flexibility even with changing operating modes and product properties. In combination with the customized fluidization plate, having a fluidization plate speed that can be adjusted to the application in question reduces the required ventilator output for cooling air and ensures efficient operation.

Proven vibration system drive concepts are responsible for driving the vibrating fluid bed cooler, including unbalance motors, directed exciters, crankshaft drives and exciter cells, all optimized for the size of the dryer model. Electronic control of the vibration angle is also available, for example to manage the dwell time of the product in the cooler.

JOEST delivers the individual machine, including the complete cooling system with air technology equipment, exhaust air purification, plumbing, and structural steel work (including system control) as part of our complete delivery program.

The spiral conveyor is a special type of vibratory conveyor that transports the product vertically. The product moves up the spiral as the conveyor vibrates.

The spiral conveyor combines the advantages of gentle product handling and vertical transport with vibration technology for bulk products suitable for feeding or in combination with thermal treatment. Transport is done via the micro-throw motion known in the vibrating technology. The operating parameters like vibrating stroke, frequency and angle of attack (throw-angle) will be selected individually to the application. The JOEST spiral conveyor for thermal treatment is suitable for

operation with different types of heat exchange media and temperatures. Special design for convective heat exchange is available too. Optionally, aspiration or overflowing of the transport surface is possible depending to the application. Static or co-vibrating housing is disposable. The design of the flights developed by JOEST enables an efficient heat exchange.

A high level of mechanical stability is achieved by welded lateral curb execution. Additionally the typical reduction of material thickness in the bending radius of press formed flights is not applicable. Two unbalance motors with adjustable angle of attack on the drive saddle, displaceable vibrating stroke and operation with frequency converter provides an efficient operation.

The Helical Casting Cooler is a specially designed spiral conveyor that uses vibration feeder technology to simultaneously cool and vertically convey materials. The conveyor belt has a slight incline and moves product up a spiral tower.

Helical casting coolers combine the advantages of gentle, vertical movement of materials using vibration feeder technology on a spiral conveyor while applying thermal treatment, and they can be driven by a variety of cooling agents. Product is moved using the micro throwing movement, a well-known technique in vibration feeding technology that can be individually set up for each application and machine type through the adjustment of swing, frequency and articulation (throw angle). Helical casting coolers are available for contact, convective and combined heat transfer methods.

With contact heat transfer – without direct contact between the cooling agent and the product – the double-bed design leads to uniform heat transfer over the entire width of the tower.  The design of the cooling plate, with welded platform panels, produces high levels of mechanical stability. This eliminates the normal reduction in sheet thickness in the bending radius required by otherwise standard pressure on the spiral tower. Cooling water supply from the cooling water distributor is also adjusted to suit the application when delivered.

For convective heat transfer, the cooling agent – with direct contact between the cooling medium and the product – is introduced directly to the product and either flows over or through the product.

The drive bracket has two variable unbalance vibrators in the pivot angles. This, combined with adjustable swing and adjustable operation with a frequency converter allows for optimal machine operation. Helical coolers can be delivered in a variety of materials including normal or stainless steels, or a combination thereof. Depending on the application, the helical cooler can be equipped with a static or oscillating enclosure as an option.

Vibrating feeders especially suit this conveying task as beyond

the simple design without any maintenance-intensive parts an extensive low-wear conveyance procedure (micro throw) of the product is permitted. The design and the choice of the conveying system is mainly determined by the feeding capacity to be required, the conveying length to be realized and certainly the efficiency.

For this JOEST offers an Vibrating Feeder (type FUF), executed with 2 unbalance drives which are fixed at the vibration saddle. The execution of the saddle varies when the conveying length increases. With regard to the frequently limited installation heights beneath the centrifuge station – lengths of up to 7,5 m each feeder have proven to be reasonable. A combination of several feeders offers the possibility to overcome larger lengths. In this case the increasing number of feeders and drives as well as the different interfaces has to be considered.

In addition to vibratory feeders with unbalance drive, JOEST also offers feeders with JOEST magnetic drives (type FMF) in its extensive product portfolio. With this design, the discharge capacity can be varied over a very wide range, since the vibration amplitude of the magnetic drive can be continuously adjusted with the thyristor controller. Furthermore, this design has the property that the conveying process stops almost immediately and without overrun after the conveyor is switched off. Magnetic chutes are therefore particularly suitable for metering purposes (scale feeding). Conveying lengths of up to approx. 4.5 m can be realized with a magnetic drive.

Vibrating tube-type feeders can be easily adapted to the required conditions for different industries. Both round and rectangular tubes can be used for both types of drive. Particularly ATEX and hygiene requirements can be well met by the closed design. Diameters between 89 mm and approx. 800 mm can be realized for round tubes.
