ACOM Detection System

Wherever it is necessary to detect smoulder spots and to take counter-measures, the ACOM detection system provides complete protection. It monitors the processed air if there is a presence of volatile pyrolysis components, then it immediately register these indications of thermal decomposition or of smoulder spot development into the system. The system is efficient enough to even detect a difference of 1 ppm. Self-ignition processes are detected as soon as they are in the early stages if initiation and can be stopped effectively. Drying milk in spray towers is one important application.

Dew Point Measurement

The target of the powdered milk Industry is to get maximum powder yield from liquid milk in the most energy efficient, cost effective and environment friendly manner, while maintaining the taste, nutritional value and solubility of the product.

For this to happen, the amount of water removed and the rate at which it is removed plays a vital role. The quality of the finished product is compromised by both, too much moisture as well as too little moisture content. This can be better understood with the sticky curve for milk powder, which is translated to the Mollier diagram of humid air in order to identify the optimal exit temperature and humidity which will lead to the maximal throughput while avoiding being in the sticky region.

Extinguishing barrier

This active system is used to decouple the emerging flame front. The barrier is particularly useful in reduced-pressure equipment, in combination with explosion pressure relief or explosion suppression systems. In the event of a hazardous event, gas generators activate the extinguishing agent bottle. The extinguishing powder is forced with great speed into the pipeline that is to be decoupled, reliably extinguishing the oncoming flame. The fast activation – or opening – of the extinguishing agent bottle is achieved through a specially developed, reusable leaf valve. After having been triggered, this valve can quickly be replaced, allowing the whole system to be reactivated again in a very short time. Your plant therefore does not have to stay out of operation for long.

Spark Detection

The ATEX spark detection and spark extinguishing system is based on the use of IR and UV sensors.
Flying sparks and moving smoulder spots are immediately identified from their radiation, and appropriate counter-measures are taken. Water extinguishing nozzles, extinguishing barriers and shut-off devices are elements of the system. These prevent the ignition source from being carried onward to at-risk parts of the plant, ensuring continued operation.

Suppression

Powder or water vapour?

Explosion suppression is not only gaining in importance because of its reliability, it also guarantees the availability of facilities, even after an explosion.
That may sound unbelievable. But the rising explosive pressure is identified within milliseconds and an extinguishing system that reduces the effects of the explosion to a defined minimum is activated. That means that employees, facilities and the environment are effectively protected. Additionally, ATEX explosion suppression features a high level of work
place safety. The suppression bottles are mechanically sealed as standard and their availability and functionality are permanently monitored by our safety control team. SIL level 2 is mandatory for our systems.
