Allein die Druckwelle einer Explosion presst den Schliesskörper an die Schliesskörperdichtung. In diesem Zustand wird das Ventil verriegelt, und damit wird das Ausbreiten von Flammen und Druckwellen wirksam verhindert. Zur Aktivierung des Ventils wird keine Anlagensteuerung benötigt. Die Position des Ventils ist an der Positionsanzeige erkennbar und kann über einen Schalter an die Meldezentrale übermittelt werden.
