Permanent multi roll magnetic separator fitted with extra strong magnetic cylinders is used for a continuous and automatic separation of even very small and only weakly magnetic particles (for example magnetic stainless steel or some kinds of paramagnetic minerals).
This exceptionally powerful magnetic multi stage separator consists of a vibrating feeder and up to five pairs of conveyor rollers cylinders placed vertically. One of the two head pulleys is a drive roller (we also offer a version with the rotation speed regulation according to the purified material character and processing needs) and the second one is driven. It also means that one cylinder is magnetic and the other one is non-magnetic. The cylinder pairs are interconnected by very thin, but extremely durable conveyor belt made from bullet proof Kevlar or glass teflon (it is available also with non sticking nylon finishing). The ferrous particles transported on the vibrating feeder together with the material to be purified are captured by the strong permanent magnets and dragged on the surface of the pulley beyond its magnetic axis where they fall off. The purified material (it means the non-magnetic particles) falls down by the effect of gravity on the next conveyor belt (placed under the first one), where the separation process is repeated in the same way (the splitter position of the magnetic and non-magnetic material output is adjustable). The magnetic field (pole gap) reaches the height up to 10 mm (depending on the separator model) and it is therefore recommended that the layer of the material transported on the belt shall not exceed 5 mm (the best results are achieved if the height between 2 mm is not exceeded).
The high gradient magnetic roll separator is equipped with a device for a simple adjustment of the optimal tension of the conveyor belt. An integrated hopper with a vibration feeder, whose dimensions correspond exactly with the conveyor belt width, is an integral part of this special magnetic separator. The optimum material batching on the conveyor belt (up to approx. 2.5 tonnes per hour) can be pre-adjusted by means of a vibration regulator.
This rare earth roll separator is very powerful, reliable, maintenance-free, undemanding from the installation and operation point of view. We supply it in a laboratory version as well (i. e., with a reduced dimensions and replaceable rolls of 100 mm length).
Thanks to the quality of the materials used for the production of the high intensity magnetic roller (set of extra strong NdFeB magnets in combination with special steel washers and the very thin and extremely durable Kevlar conveyor belt), this top quality separator is capable to reach the value of the magnetic induction up to 21000 gauss (depending on the separator type). Such a high magnetic induction used to be achieved by only electromagnetic separators until recently.
The permanent multi-stage magnetic separator fitted with the extra strong magnetic cylinders is intended for the most demanding industrial applications requiring a separation of the finest ferromagnetic impurities. It is used particularly in the food and pharmaceutical industry, in sand, feldspar and kaolin mining, in the e-waste recycling (for the removal of undesirable weakly magnetic stainless admixtures), in glass and ceramic industry, during mineral processing (iron ore, quartz) etc.
