To convert conventional and renewable raw materials into products, a number of process engineering processes are required. These are utilized in the materials-converting industry, e.g. the chemical industry. A manufacturing process often involves basic operations from different disciplines: chemical process engineering, fluid process engineering, thermal process engineering, mechanical process engineering, biological process engineering, energy process engineering, environmental process engineering as well as plant and process engineering.
At the Institute of Process Engineering (IVT), these fields have been successfully dealt with since 2013 in research and technology transfer. In addition to our own research activities in the clusters Life Science as well as Energy and Marine Technology, process engineering research and consultations are provided for the industry and trade. National and international collaborations in application-oriented research projects further enable work in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
Professors, scientific and technical staff as well as students are working on laboratory investigations, e.g. repose angle determinations, etc., in several laboratories and technical centers.
If you are interested in developing an existing process or developing future-oriented new processes taking into account the ecological and economic sustainability, please contact us by e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) or speak to us personally at our exhibit booth on at the POWTECH 2017.
