These mills have a high speed vertical axis rotor on which some rigid hammers of suitable shape are fixed.
The grinding action is provided by impact against a toothed lining and by friction between layers of the processed material.
The product is pneumatically discharged upwards, through an air classifier. The dynamic classifier is designed according to the grinding requirement and is fitted onto the top of the mill.
The cage-type dynamic microclassifier fitted onto the mill, is suitable to obtain powders at a fineness up to 99% finer than 20 micron, with a high percentage of particles finer than 5 micron.
The oversize not passing through the micro-classifier falls down to the mill where it is further gound. The drive of the microseparator is independent and usually is made with a variable speed motor. This allows a very fine adjustment of the working speed of the microseparator directly from the control board. As a consequence, the fineness of the product can be easily adjusted in a wide range.
The mills type SV must be fed with dry materials with size up to 12 mm.
In simpler cases the SV mill could be fitted with a static air classifier of special design, suitable to obtain powders at a fineness up to 95÷98% through the 40 micron sieve.
The fineness is adjustable within certain limits by varying the arrangement of the static air classifier and/or the air flow through the mill
The SV-MICRO mills are suitable for contemporary grinding and drying of raw materials with moisture up to 10-12% by blowing hot gases through the mill (calcium carbonate, vegetables, limestone).
In case of heat sensitive materials or flammable, it’s possible to blow cold air or inert gas through the mill (coals, vegetables, cocoa)
In case of very abrasive raw materials it is possible to supply special wear protection, alumina lining, etc.
