Principle of measurement
The principle of measurement is based on heat transport from an electrically heated body in ambient air dependent on the relative velocity between both.

Thermal flow sensors are primarily used for measuring the standard flow velocity Nv from which the standard volume flow and mass flow can be determined irrespective of pressure and temperature.

Höntzsch thermal flow sensors TA are able to measure not only the lowest but also high velocities and comply with all standards for industrial application:

- chemical corrosion resistance
- robust mechanical design
- small dimensions
- wide measuring range
- long-time stability of measured values
-high rate of measurement accuracy

A combination of a thermal flow sensor TA and a suitable evaluation unit is necessary for successful measurement

Flow sensors TA10
for measuring standard flow velocity, standard volume flow and temperature of medium (probe diameter 10 mm with thin-film sensor element)

- measuring range from 0.2 m/s...150 m/s
- time constant approx. 1s
- maximum working pressure: up to 15 bar
- working temperature range: -10 °C...+140 °C
- optional with certification for zone 0 or 1
- materials: stainless steel, polyimide, epoxy resin, glass

Flow sensors TA20
for measuring standard flow velocity, standard volume flow and temperature of the medium (probe diameter 20 mm with Pt100 sensor element)

- measuring range 0.08...60 m/s
- time constant approx. 20 s
- maximum working pressure: up to 10 bar
- working temperature range: -10 °C...+240 °C
- materials: stainless steel, epoxy resin, glass
- can be sterilized
