For every particle measured there is a choice of more then 10 different parameters to describe size and shape.
Fully integrated dry powder dispersion systemA major development in the Morphologi G3 is the novel fully integrated dry powder dispersion system. Precise software control of all dispersion parameters ensures highly reproducible dry powder dispersions with consistent and controlled particle orientation across a broad range of samples. The sample is completely enclosed and the system allows easy dispensing from bulk materials and the preparation of multiple aliquots.
Wet cell accessory
The large volume wet cell extends the range of sample types that can be analyzed. Equipped with the new wet cell accessory, the Morphologi G3 measures size, shape and intensity of particles for a wide range of wet dispersions and emulsions.
Liquid suspensions often present major challenges for analysis using conventional microscopy instrumentation since it is possible to measure only limited sample volumes under a cover slip. Obtaining statistically relevant quantitative data is therefore problematic. With its 2 ml interior volume and large scan area, the new wet cell overcomes these limitations.
A further capability enables the fully automated detection, enumeration and size classification of foreign particulate matter (FPM) collected on a filter.
The Morphologi G3 offers a new software tool to compare and cluster data to find differences and similarities between multiple measurements. With just a few clicks of the mouse, data is transformed into useful information, allowing the user to make decisions quickly and with confidence.
An interactive scattergram allows easy visualisation of measurement data and can be used to apply classifications and filters in order to group or exclude certain values based on any size or shape.
Full automation using Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) eliminates the user bias inherent in manual microscopy methods, and SOPs allow straightforward method development and easy electronic transfer. Automatic calibration, conformance to 21CFR part 11 requirements and full IQ/OQ documentation ensure that the system is accurate and repeatable and all data is secure and validated.

The Sysmex FPIA-3000
Image analysis system for particle shape measurement in wet dispersion: the Sysmex FPIA-3000 is a flow cytometry-based analyzer with the ability to measure across a wide particle size range. The standard instrument configuration allows the characterization of particles from 1.5 to 160 microns. High and low magnification options cover the ranges 0.8 to 80 microns and 12 to 300 microns respectively. Sample volumes as low as 0.5 ml can be used throughout and every single particle image is now stored for future reference and analysis. Powerful new software brings access to a whole range of new shape and size parameters not previously available, as well as improved threshold control that allows more sensitive edge detection for transparent particles.
