Insitec online particle sizing
Malvern® Insitec® systems measure particle size distributions from 0.1 to 1000 µm wet or dry, atline or online, with even mobile solutions.
The proven laser diffraction technology at the heart of the Insitec® systems is now the standard in most particulate processing industries and has been pioneered and developed by Malvern® Instruments for more than 30 years. Insitec’s rugged construction and robust technology reflect the exacting demands placed on analytical instrumentation in continuous use in a process environment. The instrument, the process interface, analysis software, automation and data reporting can all be customized to the unique needs of individual clients. The sensor's range of changeable lenses allows the tuning of instrument resolution to the needs of the process. The instrument is watertight and dustproof, and certified to industrial protection rating IP66. It is CE badged and meets industrial grade electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements for safe, reliable operation.
Insitec LPS (Liquid Particle Sizer)
New developments have made on-line laser diffraction technology accessible for wet processes. The Insitec LPS, a slurry process stream particle size analyzer, is designed for real-time measurement of solid and liquid particulates in dilute and concentrated liquid streams e.g. pharmaceuticals and minerals. Is delivers real-time particle size analyzes based on laser diffraction from 0.5 to 1000µm.
Designed for continuous industrial use at- or on-line, the Insitec LPS can accurately and reproducibly measure a very wide range of process streams, from highly concentrated mineral slurries through to lipid emulsions. Each component of the system – sampler, pre-diluter, cascade diluter, measurement cell, and software – can be individually tailored to the process, ensuring that even the most challenging applications can be tackled effectively
Insitec Voyager – on-line mobile particle size analyzer.
Insitec Voyager is part of the Insitec range of on-line particle size analyzers. A mobile system, it can be attached to fixed sampling ports in a production line and also can be used to sample from different production lines within the same manufacturing plant.
Consultancy service for particulate processors
The service is aimed at helping manufacturers to better understand and optimize particulate processing operations.
The 5-day consultancy package is built around Malvern’s Insitec Voyager, a fully automated, mobile on-line particle size analyzer. This is installed at the client’s site and is fully supported throughout by a Malvern process specialist.
A typical programme involves: installation and optimization of sampling; measurement of the current status of the process; running defined test programs; and the generation of comprehensive reports. The aims include finding the best parameters for process control, and testing sensitivity to process change. There is an option to rent or buy the Insitec Voyager system after completion of the study.
As part of the consultancy process, clients also have the opportunity to assess the need for permanent installation of on-line particle size analysis and to determine the optimal set-up required. Where a permanent on-line analysis solution is selected as a result of the study, then much of the preliminary testing and analysis normally required will already have been completed. This makes installation and commissioning rapid and very straightforward, resulting in a much faster return on investment.
