HOSOKAWA ALPINE Aktiengesellschaft has enhanced its tried-and-tested picoline series for size reduction and classifying trials with very small batches of only several grams by launching a further solution for R&D applications. Responding to a rising demand for a system with a focus on the protection of operating personnel from active substances, the specialist team at HOSOKAWA ALPINE developed picocont (cont = containment). The existing picoline modules are easily integrated into the new isolator system.
HOSOKAWA ALPINE has systematically advanced its high-end isolator system technology to meet the requirements of a completely sealed-off isolator with guaranteed OEL levels.
The stainless steel isolator has a safety glass window, push-push safe-change screens, alpha/beta transfer systems and WIP/CIP cleaning options.
The basic picoline module is comprised of an ergonomic platform that accommodates all nine picoline function modules. Not only is the standardised controller for all picoline function modules housed in a space-saving way but, dependent on the individual platform variant, also all electric and mechanical components necessary for operation of the respective function module. The material is fed via an adapter. Thanks to this approach, tubes are no longer.
In the picocont system, the established picoline platform was replaced by an isolator housing made from stainless steel. The new approach adheres to the principle of strict separation of process and technical components. Now located below the unit, the technical components are not integrated into the platform but separated from the process chamber in the isolator and therefore protected from contamination.
Analogue to the picoline platform, the user-friendly control system is operated via a touch panel with microprocessor, which is integrated into the isolator. When the operator selects the installed function module, the corresponding control logic is activated automatically.
