At the POWTECH trade fair, Hosokawa Alpine will exhibit the PULVIS dry agitated ball mill. As a rule, comminution processes are extremely energy-intensive. The finer the target particle size, the higher the energy requirement. Our aim is therefore to develop technologies which make it possible for our customers to manufacture increasingly finer particles under application of increasingly little energy. The PULVIS machine, a combination of a vertical agitated ball mill and a high-efficiency classifier, is just one more milestone along this road.
Scale-up from the laboratory unit to fully blown production-scale operations could not be easier with the finely graduated range of models. And thanks to its high milling efficiency, higher fineness values are possible and the specific energy requirement is reduced by up to 80% when compared with other milling methods. The desired fineness can be set by adjusting the classifier speed. Stable in operation, this compact unit generates extremely fine end products with particle sizes in the submicron range. Because the PULVIS is easy to assemble, dismantle and clean, it is ideal for applications where the product is changed frequently.
The PULVIS is the right mill when it comes to fine-grinding hard and temperature-insensitive products. The use of additives is also possible. Typical applications for the PULVIS are, for example: inorganic pigments, ceramic materials, metallic oxides, battery materials, minerals, glass, glass frits and graphite.
