Robots are used in every area of the packaging process. The goal: highly automated, traceable and hygienic processes.
The key to success is individual gripper technology: it influences and enhances the performance of a fully automated palletizing solution; in each case adapted to the industry, product and package. The robot grippers are adapted fully automatically to the production conditions in terms of mechanical and control technology.
In addition to the selection of the suitable robot system, the use of the optimum gripper - also multifunctional gripper - has a decisive effect on sustainably increasing and securing the performance and quality in the process sequence.
Multifunction gripper for difficult products
At FACHPACK, the TRAPO team will be showing a special solution for safely depalletizing aerosol cans and placing them on the conveyor belt. The special challenge of the product: The center of gravity is in the upper area of the can, plus an extremely thin contact surface - both of which increase the risk of tipping on the conveyor bath and during gripping. The multifunctional gripper also has another special feature, which at the same time illustrates the sustainability concept of the TRAPO application: a knife for cutting open the corners in the fold of the cardboard tray - for space-saving stacking of the cardboard as part of the recycling concept.
Gripper solutions for every product and every industry.
Versatile multifunctional grippers are developed in the TRAPO Technical Center to grip workpieces of any size and geometry. They are used in fully automated robotic applications as well as in collaborative assistance robots. They are adapted to their task, developed in the technical center and tested in the neighboring assembly hall. One example is the efficiency of combination grippers, which combine the task of several grippers in their function; the time-consuming and costly changing of grippers is no longer necessary.

Wherever possible and necessary, TRAPO humanizes workplaces. Instead of replacing employees, the goal is to use robots as an additional hand to the human colleague. In doing so, MRK robots revolutionize collaboration within production by isolating sources of error and sustainably relieving employees.
Assistant robots recognize humans and do not pose any risk of injury. The robot - equipped with the perfect gripper - works as an additional "hand" of the human colleague - in doing so, hands and gripper can touch each other and safely act next to and with each other during the processing of workpieces.
When humans and robots perform assembly work together, this optimizes working conditions within production - and as a result increases efficiency, flexibility and safety.
Autonomous transport shuttle with cobot attachment
The combination of a mobile, collaborative robot (cobot) with specially developed gripper changing systems or individual grippers provides additional added value. Across all industries, the mobile duo of transport shuttle and MRK robot relieves the workload exactly where it is needed: in conveying, palletizing and depalletizing, precise layer formation and accurate packaging. The MRK solution handles automated work steps and can be programmed for different tasks.
Another advantage is the multiple use of existing space. This is because assistant robots dock where their work is needed.
