World’s First Certified, Compostable, Eco-Corr® Patented Films and Bags powered by Nano-VpC®

Eco-Corr Film® is the first biodegradable corrosion inhibiting film that contains Cortec’s proprietary VpCI® Technology and provides excellent contact, barrier, and vapor-phase corrosion protection for ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Eco-Corr Film® will disintegrate into carbon dioxide and water within 2-3 months in a commercial composting environment. The exact time for films to biodegrade is dependent upon the conditions and activity of the disposal environment (temperature, soil quality, activity of microorganisms). Eco-Corr Film® is shelf stable and will not break down prematurely until disposed of in a proper composting environment. Laboratory composability testing of Eco-Corr Film® using a household-style compost bin showed the film was disintegrated in 112 days. EcoCorr is complete replacement for non-degradable and inferior blend films. It contains biobased polymer resins and is excellent environmentally responsible alternative to conventional polyethylene films for shipping and storage applications. Metal parts that are packaged in Eco-Corr Film® receive continuous protection against salt, excessive humidity, condensation, moisture, aggressive industrial atmospheres, and dissimilar metal corrosion. The Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitors vaporize and then condense on all metal surfaces in the enclosed package. VpCI® reaches every area of your part, protecting its exterior as well as hard to reach interior surfaces. The products provides complete corrosion protection during storage as well as during domestic and overseas shipments.

Eco-Corr Film® is certified industrially compostable by TÜV Austria (#TA8012206603) and meets following standards:

ASTM D6400
NACE TM0208-2018 standard for corrosion protection
German TL-8135-002 standards for corrosion protection

Environmentally safe anti-corrosion films and bags are manufactured utilizing most contemporary available technologies today. We also develop and produce multiple green packaging options without corrosion inhibitor. The plant is located in Beli Manastir, on a green complex of 15,000 square meters in an excellent geo-strategic location of Central Eastern Europe. Over 90% of EcoCortec's products are exported to European countries as well as Asia and USA. We manufacture films and bags according to customer specifications in terms of the product size and performance and are very flexible when it comes to the order size and meeting special customer requests for just in time deliveries.
Biodegradable, compostable materials are becoming a standard in modern packaging industry and our team of scientists and engineers works hard to develop smart, environmentally safe packaging solutions that are not hazardous to the environment but will enable strongest corrosion protection and will fully satisfy our customers in its performance. We offer a wide range of biodegradable, compostable and recyclable, TUV certified packaging options, including films, papers, and latest green developments in stretch, shrink and ESD packaging. We are especially proud of our recycling center, first of its kind in Europe.

EcoCortec had several expansion phases due to increasing market demand for VCI films and bags. We are continually expanding our resources and improving our products assortment. The company utilizes its own resources such as R&D service and world-class laboratory to create and develop wide spectrum of new products on yearly bases. Our in-house, ISO certified laboratory can perform testing compliant to Military Specifications (MIL-STD 3010) and ASTM standards. We are especially proud of our recycling center, first of its kind in Europe.
All our VpCI®/VCI films provide multi-metal corrosion protection, eliminating the need to stock many different films for different types of metal. This allows our customers significant time and cost savings. We offer numerous size and format options and our clients can protect metal objects as small as a needle or as large as the contents of an oceangoing container.

In EcoCortec’s recycling centar, most of our films are recycled and reprocessed into a new product. This way we managed to achieve a true “circular economy,” in our manufacturing and disposal processes. EcoCortec® has been part of several EU funded projects that were targeted towards decreasing plastics waste. In 2022, the company has entered with new investments and is building new reprocessing and compounding plants.
