Circular Design Training
The topics of packaging waste and packaging disposal are central issues that are becoming more and more important. Due to the increase in recycling rates of packaging waste within the framework of the EU's circular economy package, the recyclability as well as the circular design of packaging is becoming more and more important. 

The seminar series "Circular Packaging", which takes place within the framework of the FH Campus Wien Academy, is designed to prepare you for the increasing requirements of the packaging industry in three seminars and to provide valuable impulses.

A comprehensive assessments of your packaging system

The Circular Economy Action Plan provides the framework for product policy in Europe. 
Circular packaging is an important prerequisite for a future-oriented circular economy, in order to be able to keep raw materials in the cycle, conserve resources and protect the climate. 

In order to meet the legal requirements of the EU, comprehensive assessments of your packaging system are being carried out. Among other things, we analyze the recyclability of your packaging and support you in optimizing it. 

Within the framework of these analyses, Circular Analytics provides:

• comprehensive evaluations of the packaging system 
• recommendations for optimization
• expert opinions on recyclability 

These results can be adapted to region-specific conditions as well as company-specific requirements. 
Furthermore, as Certification Body of RECYCLASS, a recyclability assessment including certification using RECYCLASS methodology can be performed.

Recyclability Assessment
Packaging is considered recyclable if it is collected by a region-specific collection system, is suitable for state-of-the-art sorting and separation processes, and can be recovered in a recycling process. The resulting recyclates must meet a quality standard and have market potential.

Design for Recycling
Design for recycling is a sub-area of circular design and describes the suitability of packaging to pass through a sorting process correctly and to be recycled in a recycling process. The Circular Packaging Design Guideline can be used to analyze the recyclability of packaging.

A multi-criteria assessment method for packaging materials and their contents

The holistic sustainability assessment represents a multi-criteria assessment method for packaging and its filling goods. The aim of this is the consideration of different ecological aspects under inclusion of different criteria of sustainability.

Based on the 3 pillars of product protection, circularity and environment, relevant indicators for your packaging are selected from a pool of indicators of sustainability assessment according to the Efficient Consumer Response (ECR) Guideline, analyzed and then evaluated for you.

Systematic environmental assessments on the way to climate neutrality

The European Green Deal paves the way to a climate-neutral EU by 2050. With the help of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) we conduct systematic environmental assessments and accompany you on the way to climate neutrality. 

We analyze packaging, products or even your entire company and support you in taking sustainable measures to reduce your environmental impact. 

The assessment is carried out according to ISO 14040/14044, ISO 14064, as well as Product Environmental Footprint specifications of the European Commission. Furthermore, we use standards such as the GHG Protocol to ensure international comparability for you. 

We are happy to analyze your packaging via our streamlined LCA software or carry out customized calculations based on internal company data as part of a comprehensive process analysis and thus evaluate the environmental impact of your packaging, products or even your company.
