the Oyster™ Composite valve is ideal for use in pack-off systems for filling drums, Bins or Bags, where it is necessary to control the flow of product and to achieve a target weight with a high degree of precision.
The Oyster Composite valve enables a two phase filling process:
Phase 1: the bulk discharge phase during which the main leaf is opened by means of a pneumatic actuator and the valves works like a butterfly valve. As the target weight is approached, the main leaf is progressively closed.
Phase 2: the fine dosing phase during which the main leaf remains closed and the dosing ball is operated by means of a pneumatic 180° actuator. As the dosing ball rotates forward and back though 180°, it dispenses product volumetrically in small doses enabling a given target weight to be reached accurately.
The layout of the valve is significantly different from competing valves and enables a much better control of product flow, including a bridge-breaker for difficult applications.
